Decades of Experience
Supporting adults through loss, illness, adoption reunion & life transitions
My Story
I'm an experienced clinical social worker with a Master of Social Work degree and registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. For decades, I've supported adults navigating stress, anxiety, sadness, and profound uncertainty — particularly those facing grief and loss in its many forms.
My career began in Child Welfare, where I spent many years in Foster Care and Adoption. That foundation shaped everything about how I work — the importance of meeting people where they are, without judgment, and holding space for the full complexity of their experience.
Over time, my practice deepened into grief, bereavement, and the kinds of losses that don't always get the recognition they deserve. I've walked alongside individuals and families through some of the hardest moments a person can face — and I've never stopped being humbled by the resilience of the human spirit.
Areas of Specialization
Loss, Grief & Bereavement
I provide compassionate support to adults grieving the loss of a family member, friend, or beloved pet. I also work with parents supporting children and teens through loss, individuals and families navigating M.A.I.D. (Medical Assistance in Dying), and those who have lost loved ones to drug overdose or suicide. My practice includes a sub-specialty in infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal loss.
Post Adoption Services & Adoption Reunion Support
Drawing on my years in Child Welfare, I offer support to birth parents considering adoption, adult adoptees, and their families — with a particular focus on the complex emotional terrain of adoption reunion.
Coping with Illness
I work with individuals facing their own diagnosis and with families supporting an ill loved one, including seniors and their caregivers navigating health transitions and end-of-life decisions.
General Anxiety
Grief and anxiety are deeply connected. I support adults struggling with persistent worry, fear of loss, and the anxiety that often accompanies major life transitions.
Why I Created Love & Loss
Throughout my career in Ontario, I kept hearing the same thing from people outside the province: "I wish I could work with you, but I don't live in Ontario."
That's when Love & Loss was born. Through group programs (distinct from clinical counselling), I can now offer support to anyone, anywhere who speaks English and is ready to heal alongside a compassionate community.
My Approach
I believe grief is not a problem to be solved, but a sacred journey to be honored. There's no "right" way to grieve, no timeline for healing, and no emotion that's "too much." I'm committed to ongoing professional education — both learning from others and sharing what I know — because the people I work with deserve nothing less.
"Grief asks only that we not turn away from it. My role is to walk beside you, holding the lantern, as you find your own path through the darkness back into the light."

A Little More About Me
I was born and raised in Ontario and have spent my entire life here — so when I say I understand this community, I mean it in the most personal way possible. Toronto and the people in it have shaped who I am.
I'm a mom to three sons and a grandmother to seven grandchildren who remind me constantly that life's capacity for joy never really runs out — even after loss.
And then there's Dolly — my Collie, my shadow, my number one companion. Anyone who's loved a dog the way I love Dolly understands exactly why pet loss grief is so real, so deep, and so deserving of proper support.
I'm lucky to be surrounded by a wonderful circle of friends across Toronto and Ontario — people who have walked through life's ups and downs with me. That sense of community and connection is something I try to bring into every group I facilitate.
